August Schell Brewing Co., a Minnesota brewer, may purchase Grain Belt Premium, US beer brand, produced by Minnesota Brewing Co. which closed down recently.

August Schell Brewing Co.'s President, Ted Marti, said the acquisition of Grain Belt would double the production of his brewery.

This deal could be realized as soon as Minnesota Brewing Co., the producer of such brands as Golden Pilsner, Pig's Eye Pilsner, Yellow Belly and Brewer's Cave beers, is sold off or liquidated.
