| E-Malt.com News article: USA, NY: Empire Brewing Company to launch new brewery in Cazenovia the end of the year
Construction is moving right along on with Empire Brewing Company's huge expansion, the Farmstead Brewery in Cazenovia, WSYR reported on August 24.
The Armory Square brew pub says it should be ready to make beer at the new brewery by the end of the year.
It probably won’t be until early spring that it will be open to the public.
"I'm anxious to get it built and get it done but I'm also really enjoying every day watching it get built," Empire Brewing Company’s owner, David Katleski said.
Katleski says the motivation for the expansion is in part to be a more socially conscious business by the way they’ll operate it, but also to challenge themselves by taking the next step.
"By going into packing, going into distribution, going into the agritourism component of this particular business and really expanding the workforce that we have and allowing for them to have greater opportunity within our organization," Katleski said.
The brewery will be twice as big as what Empire Brewing needs right now but Katleski says that gives them plenty of room to grow.
Katleski says, "We would like to spread the word on what we're doing and how we do it and how we interact with local colleges in getting them involved."
Katleski says they’ll also be using as many local products as they possibly can at the brewery.
