Craft beer lovers can rejoice at yet another brewery opening in Portland, the Portland Tribune reported on November 23.

This time it's a third location for Breakside Brewery, set to open in Northwest Portland early next summer.

"We are really excited about this new project and to be a part of what’s developing in Northwest," says Breakside president Scott Lawrence. "This next evolution for Breakside will give us the opportunity to get even more creative and effective with our beers, and have a glittering premier location we can share with more friends in Portland."

The new 5,000-square-foot Breakside brewpub will produce new beers, since in the past two years the brewery has produced more than 100 different beers each year.

Breakside launched in Portland in 2010 in Northeast Portland's Woodlawn neighborhood. In 2013 they opened a 30bbl production facility and tasting room in Milwaukie.

Their beers have won multiple prestigious awards, including the Gold Medal in American-style IPA at the 2014 Great American Beer Festival, named Best Brewery in Oregon by Thrillist, Best Beer (IPA) by The Oregonian, Top 25 Beers of the Year by Draft Magazine, Top 100 by Men’s Journal and claimed multiple medals at the World Beer Cup, North American Beer Awards and the Great American Beer Festival.

Breakside expects to produce 15,000 barrels in 2015.
