On July 16, 2002 the Chinese brewer Beijing Yanjing Brewery Co. revealed its plans about the purchasing of 38.4% in Guilin Liquan Co. for US$12.5 million for cash.
Around 250,000 tons of beer per year is produced by Guilin Liquan Co. and it is mainly sold in southwestern cities Guilin, Nanning and Liuzhou.
Beijing Yanjing has an 8% share in China's beer market, with over 85% of the Beijing market.
