| E-Malt.com News article: Canada, AB: High Line Brewing to open its doors on November 18
A new brewery founded by three friends and homebrewers is set to open its doors and release its first beers to the public next week, Canadian Beer News reported on November 9.
High Line Brewing is being launched by partners J.J. Mathison, Kurt Wikel and Graham Dolce, with Mathison recently telling beer blog On Beer that the idea to open a brewery came out of the trio’s dissatisfaction with the local beer scene.
Located at 113-1318 9th Avenue S.E. in Calgary’s historic Inglewood neighbourhood, High Line features a five-barrel brewhouse and four 15-barrel tanks as a primary brewing system, as well as a two-barrel pilot system with several two-barrel tanks for smaller batch brewing.
According to the On Beer article, the brewery plans to offer “three to four year-round offerings supplemented by three to five seasonal or one-time beer” in cans and growlers for take-home sales, and by the glass in the 35 seat tasting room.
High Line will be holding its grand opening on Friday November 18th from 4:00 to 10:00 PM. Regular business hours will be 4:00 to 10:00 PM on Thursday and Friday, 12:00 noon to 10:00 PM on Saturday, and 12:00 noon to 6:00 PM on Sunday.
