The newest brewery in eastern North Carolina will open soon. The final stages for Greenville’s first full production brewery, Uptown Brewing Company, are underway, WCTI12.com reported on November 28.

The space located at 418 Evans Street had been vacant for the last 30 years. Benjamin Self is one of the three men behind the company. He said they are now moving equipment in, getting things set up and working on some of the permits necessary before they are fully open.

The business will not only fill the cups of beer enthusiasts, but all also produce beer for restaurants and bars across eastern North Carolina.

“You'll be able to come over here and have a beer you know fresh local, delicious. You'll be able to enjoy that, watch the TV or watch us make beer," Self said.

A date for the grand opening is not set yet but the goal is to open by the New Year.
