| E-Malt.com News article: Canada, BC: Backcountry Brewing launches in Squamish
The recent flurry of brewery openings in British Columbia continued this past weekend with the opening of a new brewery and taproom in Squamish, Canadian Beer News reported on April 4.
Backcountry Brewing has been established by a group of five partners, including head brewer John Folinsbee (ex-Steamworks), and Ben Reeder, co-owner of Maple Bay Hop Farm where many of the hops used in Backcountry’s beers will be grown.
Following a soft opening late last week, Backcountry officially opened on April 1st, and is pouring glasses, flights and growlers of several beers including East Coast IPA, American Pale Ale, and German Pilsner. In addition to a core line-up of five or six bands, Folinsbee plans to offer a rotation of seasonal and limited edition beers in a variety of styles.
Backcountry Brewing is located at 405-1201 Commercial Way in Squamish, and is open Tuesday and Wednesday from 3:00 to 10:00 PM, Thursday from 3:00 to 11:00 PM, Friday and Saturday from 12:00 noon to 11:00 PM, and Sunday from 12:00 noon to 10:00 PM.
