E-Malt.com News article: USA, WA: Forward Operating Base Brewing Co. already open in DuPont

DuPont’s first homegrown brewery is now open. Forward Operating Base Brewing Co. tapped its first beer to the public on Oct. 7, The News Tribune reported on November 3.

The brewery, as the name suggests, is military themed and caters to nearby Joint Base Lewis-McChord. It’s also operated by a veteran.

Jared Wharton spent eight years in the Army before being discharged in 2004.

Opening a brewery has been his longtime dream.

His five-barrel brewery setup is on display at the front entrance. Two beers were on tap last week and more are ready this week.
