| E-Malt.com News article: USA, MA: RiverWalk Brewing Co. launches taproom and brewery in Newburyport
RiverWalk Brewing Co. recently opened their new taproom and brewery at 40 Parker Street in Newburyport, MA. The 20,000 square foot space houses a 30 barrel brewhouse, taproom featuring twelve rotating taps, beer-inspired food menu and a private events room. The Parker Street facility represents a tenfold increase in size and production from their previous location on Graf Rd in Newburyport, MA, Brewbound reported on December 28.
RiverWalk Brewing owner Steve Sanderson sees the new space as a win-win for customers, “It allows people to engage with our brand in a meaningful way and better understand our worldly point of view when it comes to beer. We hope they leave here having learned something about beer they didn’t know before.”
RiverWalk Brewing brews over 30 different varieties of their craft beer, pulling inspiration from around the globe. So taking over a former warehouse space allowed Sanderson to build to his exact specifications for that reason.
Sanderson explains, “The new brewery allows us to increase production dramatically. In our old space we were maxed out at 2,000 barrels per year. This new facility gives us the potential for 15,000 barrels a year. And perhaps more importantly, we now have the physical space to experiment more. You’ll start to see a lot of new and exciting beers coming out of Riverwalk, including barrel-aged and sours.”
Sanderson also hopes to make a larger community impact, “Our goal is to create a community hub, a place where people can meet family and friends, have a pint and enjoy being together. So staying in Newburyport was of the utmost importance. Many people have supported us since we started in a shared space and taking this journey with them has been very, very special.”
This summer, Sanderson says they plan to open a deck and 3,000 square foot outdoor biergarten as well.
RiverWalk Brewing also distributes their craft beer in kegs and cans throughout Massachusetts and New Hampshire.
