E-Malt.com News article: USA, IN: Two new breweries to launch in Indianapolis for St. Patrick’s day
Brewery news

Two new Indianapolis-area breweries are planning grand openings during the already-packed holiday weekend of St. Patrick’s Day, The Indy Star reported on March 12.

Whitestown's first brewery Moontown Brewing Company will host a "four-day rager" with March Madness basketball on the TVs, live music, food and brews from March 15 through March 18.

Then, Traders Brewing Company, coming to the Traders Point area on the northwest side, will swing open its doors at 1 p.m. on March 17 for its grand opening celebration.

Moontown Brewing has renovated the old Whitestown High School gymnasium at 345 S. Bowers St. for its brewery, event venue, taproom and restaurant.

The event venue opened in October, followed by the taproom in January. But the restaurant will open for the first time on Thursday, March 15.

The menu lists small bites, flatbreads and burgers. There's also mini corndogs and mac and cheese for the kids in the restaurant's family friendly area.

The Moontown team includes head brewer Cody Peczkowski, longtime home brewer Pete Mattingly, assistant brewer Bobby Mattingly and co-owner Patrick Mattingly.

Traders Brewing Company is a family endeavor: Krissy and Bart Hensley, along with Krissy’s parents, sister and brother-in-law, are combining their home brewing experience and business acumen for the small brewery and taproom. You can find it in the long line of businesses that fill a strip center at 8587 Zionsville Road.

The taproom will be open to adults 21-and-over starting Thursday, March 15, but is planning a St. Patrick's Day party with a food truck, games and four beers on tap — a Belgian-style beer, a stout, an IPA and an English ale.
