| E-Malt.com News article: USA, FL: St. Michael's Brewing Company opening in Navarre quite soon
The coronavirus pandemic is not stopping veteran Michael Bares from opening the St. Michael's Brewing Company on Highway 87 in Navarre. His time in the service brought him to Hurlburt Field in Santa Rosa County. Now, he calls the area home and the location of his business, WEAR reported on September 9.
All the beers, made in house, will have something in common. The name of the brewery serves as a hint.
"St. Michael is the patron saint of military and law enforcement. All of our beers will be named after military units, law enforcement agencies...basically all first responders," Bares said.
He says it's his way of recognizing and honoring their work. This brewery has been years in the making. It was under construction for two years and then hit with a curve ball which set completion back.
"Early this year when COVID came around, we started having supply issues, mainly with our electrical components," he said.
Bares says the pandemic has also forced him to consider a different layout for his customers.
"We were going to have a small beer garden, but now with CDC guidelines, outside seating may be the way to go," said Bares.
In a world that seems full of worries, he hopes it'll be a place where customers can leave them at the door, enjoy a cold beer and good conversation. He says he wants people to enjoy a friendly and community-oriented atmosphere.
Bares hopes to open in the next 30 to 45 days.
