UK: British regional brewer and pubs company Greene King is to appoint Rooney Anand as the company's new chief executive as part of a reshuffle involving three senior executives, the beer maker announced last week on December 16. Anand, 40, who currently heads the company's brewing division, will take up his new role on May 2, 2005, according to Reuters.
He replaces Chief Executive Tim Bridge, 55, who had already made it clear he did not intend to continue in his role until retirement age. Greene King said Bridge would take over the role of non-executive chairman vacated by David McCall, 70, who is retiring on May 1, 2005. The group said it intends to appoint a new executive director as soon as practicable to take over as managing director of brewing.
