Barley production in Canada will be down by a staggering 47 per cent this year due to the worst drought in decades, new figures from Statistics Canada reveal, according to the Calgary Sun. This year's drought was preceded by last year's, and, adding disease and pestilence onto that, this year's output of Canadian cereals will be unusually gloomy, with qualty sinking in those crops harvested at all.
