E-Malt.com News article: USA, CO: Konstruct Brewing opens its doors in Fort Collins
Brewery news

Fort Collins resident Brian Lackey is a creator, The Coloradoan reported on June 8.

And now he's crafted Konstruct Brewing, which opened Friday, June 7 at 3027 E. Harmony Road, Unit 2.

Lackey has been living in Fort Collins since childhood in the 1980s and has been home brewing beer for 14 years. He said his brother Jack had been pushing him to open his own brewery, and earlier this year they purchased the assets of Envy Brewing, which closed in February.

Lackey makes more than just beer, and that's been the inspiration for his business. He is in the construction business with his brother, but he is also a photographer, builds furniture and has restored cars and bikes.

"I create things, and that's where the 'Konstruct' comes from," he said.

That shows up in the brewery's aesthetic: The decor features his own photography, and he hopes the brewery's vibe inspires curiosity and creation in others.

For launch, there are nine beers on tap, ranging from Lackey's personal favorite, Spangler's Saison, which is brewed with juniper berries, to a Kraftsman Cream Ale.

There's the Sag Wagon Stout, Golden Hour Wit, Raspi Sour, Handy Hazy IPA and others. He's testing out a 10th beer, a coconut-infused brew that is a variant of the Kraftsman Cream Ale.

Konstruct also sells cocktails, wine and guest beers, including a gluten-free beer and nonalcoholic drinks. The food menu includes flatbread pizza and appetizers. The brewery also sells canned beer to take home.

Shaun Salyards, formerly of Fort Collins Brewing and Snowbank Brewing, brewed the beers, Lackey said.

Inside the brewery, it's open and airy, with natural light and an industrial feel. The brewing tanks feature prominently just off the tap room.

Outside, there's a patio with shade screens, plus a bike repair station and rack. Lackey said he wants the brewery to be welcoming to the bicycle community.
