Orlando’s Ivanhoe Village space formerly home to the Hammered Lamb is set to be filled once again, this time with a new brewery, Orlando Weekly reported on August 21.

Hyperbolic Brewing Company, dedicated to crafting "traditionally decocted European lagers, fruited sours, IPAs, and premium barrel-aged ales" is set to open its first brick-and-mortar location at 1235 N. Orange Ave. by mid-2026.

The 10-barrel brewhouse and taproom will have a covered 1,000-square-foot outdoor seating area and will offer eats via a culinary partner who will sublease the kitchen, the brewery says.

Owned by longtime brewer and National Homebrew Competition award winner Maxwell Furth, Hyperbolic Brewing is made up of five brewers with more than five decades of brew-specific experience in local breweries and the Goose Island barrel program. It's been a mainstay and Judge's Choice award recipient at Orlando Beer Festival.

“We’re not just opening another brewery—we’re helping build a destination for beer lovers in the heart of Orlando,” Maxwell Furth, co-founder and owner of Hyperbolic Brewing, said in a release.

Hammered Lamb shut its doors for good in January, after a tumultuous final year of business struggles that punctuated its 12 year-run serving Orlando's Ivanhoe Village. The longstanding brunch-focused restaurant, bar and drag hub faced financial hardship and decline in business largely due to Ivanhoe Village's massive ongoing infrastructure project at the time.

The closure later became the catalyst for Orlando Sen. Carlos Guillermo Smith's bill to help provide aid to small businesses harmed by nearby construction projects. It ultimately failed to pass after infighting in the Florida House derailed progress on a slate of proposals that were unable to cross the finish line by the end of the 2025 legislative session.
