E-Malt.com News article: Thailand: ThaiBev changes management structure and names a new president

Bangkok-headquartered Thai Beverage (ThaiBev) has changed its management structure and named a new president, The Spirits Business reported on September 28.

From 1 October, three senior executives within the group – which produces Chang beer and SangSom rum – will be promoted.

Current executive vice-president Sopon Racharaksa will become president and oversee ThaiBev’s operations. Racharaksa will stay on as chief people officer and as a member of the executive committee, but will no longer serve as chief of the firm’s spirits arm.

Kosit Suksingha will take over from Racharaksa as chief of the Spirits Product Group and remain chief of digital and technology. He will no longer head up the Non-Alcoholic Beverage Product arm – a role that will pass to Rahul John Colaco.

Colaco will also maintain his position as chief of brand and commercial.

ThaiBev said the changes will provide its executives with ‘broader responsibilities’, while ‘developing the next generation of leaders’ potential’ and supporting the continuation of sustainable business growth.

The company added that the new structure would enhance collaboration across its four product groups: spirits, beer, food and non-alcoholic beverages.

Charoen Sirivadhanabhakdi will continue as chairman of the board of directors and as executive chairman of ThaiBev.

Thapana Sirivadhanabhakdi will remain as director and chief executive officer, under whom Racharaksa will work as ThaiBev president.

Scotland-headquartered International Beverage is part of ThaiBev’s global arm and looks after brands such as Larsen Cognac, New Zealand whisky Cardrona, Scotch whiskies Balblair and AnCnoc, Phraya Rum and Reid Vodka.

In February this year, International Beverage opened an office in New York and brought US distribution of its spirits in-house.
