Scottish brewer and pub owner Belhaven posted a 22.5 % increase in year pretax profit on June 6, and said market conditions were proving "tricky".

Pretax profit was 17.43 million pounds in the 53 weeks to April 3, compared to 14.23 million pounds a year ago, said Belhaven, whose Belhaven Best is Scotland's leading draught ale.
