Fischer Beverage International (FBI) announced on January 17 that it has reached an agreement with the German brewery Paulaner in Munich to distribute their major brands, Paulaner and Hacker-Pschorr, in the United States, effective February 1, 2003.

The authentic Bavarian Paulaner brand also includes: the number one selling Oktoberfest beer in the world, Original Munich Premium Lager, Salvator double bock and others. Hacker-Pschorr beers include: Munich Dark, Munich Lager, Original Oktoberfest, Weisse, Weisse Dark, and Weisse Kristall.

"We are thrilled to incorporate these two popular German brews into our portfolio of international beer brands," said Scott Demartine, general manager for Fischer Beverages International.

Fischer Beverages International was created in 1980 as the American affiliate of Fischer Breweries in Strasbourg, France. In 1996, Fischer Breweries was sold to Heineken N.V. and shortly after, Fischer Beverages International became a subsidiary of the Dutch brewer.

Fischer Beverages, based in White Plains, NY, imports and markets a range of specialty beer brands, including: Murphy's Stout and Murphy's Red Beer, Moretti (Italy), Fischer (France), Affligem (Belgium) and Wieckse Witte (Holland).
