Coopers Brewery, the South Australian brewer, has announced a A$20.2 million profit for the year to the end of June 2002, up form A$4.59 million for the previous year. The company profit was increased by the sale of its Adelaide Maltings subsidiary to grain company, Ausbulk, resulting in a A$16.2m exceptional profit. The company’s turnover rose from A$96.3m to A$123.9m.
Coopers holds about 60% of market sales in South Australia with its Sparkling Ale, Coopers Pale Ale and Coopers Stout brands. In whole Australia, the company has about 2% of market share.
