Ukrainian breweries of free alcohol beer produced about 147.2 million dekalitres of beer for 2002 year. These results were reached due to the equipment modernization and mounting new facilities at many huge breweries during 2001. It is the first time when the beer producers achieve the results of 1985 year (times of Soviet Union). In 1985 147.4 million dekalitres of beer were produced in Ukraine.

Ukrainian brewers increased beer production for January 2003 by 14% against January 2002. They plan to output about 160 million dekalitres of beer in 2003.
