ZAO “Obolon” (Kiev), one of three biggest Ukrainian brewers, has posted a 10.4% rise of beer output for January-February this year versus the same period of previous year. Obolon produced about 53.26 million litres of beer in the first two months of the year. In January the company increased beer production by 28.5% up to 26.5 million litres compared to January 2002.
Obolon plans to increase beer output by 20% this year, about 470 million litres more. In 2002 the company produced about 389 million litres of beer, 11.2% more then for the previous year. Brewer Obolon was created in 1980. In 1992 the company was privatised. Obolon hires about 2200 people.
