Anheuser-Busch’s Graphic Communications department, the company’s full-service printing and mailing group, was awarded a Benny, the highest honour in the 2006 Premier Print Awards, for its 2005 Holiday Greeting Card Collection, the brewer posted November 02.
The Premier Print Awards, hosted by the Printing Industries of America/Graphic Arts Technical Foundation (PIA/GATF), is recognized as the graphic arts industry’s largest and most prestigious international printing awards competition. In its 57th year, the annual contest recognizes companies and individuals for outstanding achievement in the creation and production of print communications.
“Anheuser-Busch prides itself on quality, innovation and creativity across all areas of our business,” said Dan Hoffmann, vice president, Corporate Identity, Anheuser-Busch. “We’ve always ingrained this philosophy into our everyday work ethic in Graphic Communications and are honored to see it recognized by such a prestigious award.”
This year, more than 5,500 entries were received from printing and graphic arts firms from around the world, with Benny awards going only to the top print media entry in each category.
“Benny winners represent the best work that our industry has to offer,” said Michael Makin, president and CEO of PIA/GATF. “In fact, 2006 was a particularly competitive year because we received hundreds more entries from companies across 18 different countries.”
Anheuser-Busch’s Graphic Communications department received its 2006 Premier Print Award Benny at this year’s Premier Print Gala on October 15 at the Chicago Hilton Hotel in Chicago.
