According to analysts, the price development of malting barley since the harvest presents an enormous financial stress to the malting and brewing industries, probably never experienced before. However, even malt is of prime necessity to produce beer, malt price surge should have an insignificant influence on the final price of beer as malt price represents less than 1% of the price of a 25cl glass of beer (see details in the table of this week).
