Brewery news USA, FL: Uncommon Path Brewing to open in Fort Lauderdale later this month
Tucked away in a rezoned industrial section of Fort Lauderdale's Progresso Village is Uncommon Path Brewing, which plans to open later this month with beers made onsite, wood-fired pizzas, and two brewers who've methodically brought their business idea to fruition, the Miami New Times reported on September 5.

Uncommon Path owners Marcos Cabrera and Josh Breault tell New Times they plan to have the brewery, located at 710 NW Fifth Ave., in operation (and the pizza oven fired up) later this month. The duo committed themselves about a year ago after signing a lease on an empty building, after which they began the tedious process of building the place out piece by piece. The opening date is currently set for Saturday, September 23.

"We came in with dirt floors and no windows," Cabrera says of the sizable space that's divided between tap room, kitchen, and brew house. "This was just an empty rectangle. I always wanted to do my own thing."

Like many in the beer industry, the road Cabrera and Breault took that led them to brewing wasn't a common one. The inspiration behind the brewery's name comes from the uncommon path they take to making beer and pizza and developing the ...More info on site

Brewery news USA, AZ: Flying Basset Brewing to close at the end of the month
Gilbert's award-winning Flying Basset Brewing announced it will close at the end of September, the Phoenix New Times reported on September 5.

"It has been over six years since Flying Basset Brewing opened its doors to the Arizona craft beer industry," the brewery's owners shared on the company's Instagram and Facebook pages. "Each one of those years has been a wild and eventful ride. Unfortunately, our time here will be coming to an end."

The brewery will close after service on Sept. 30. Philadelphia Sandwich Co., which operates one of its three locations from inside the Gilbert brewery, will continue serving, but food will only be available to-go beginning on Oct. 1.

The 10-barrel brewery opened in 2018 near Ray and Cooper roads, the brainchild of pilot Rob Gangon and his wife Sara Cotton. The brewery has received several accolades in the past year. Its coffee beer, Alchemist Breakfast, received a bronze medal from the World Beer Cup, an international competition hosted by the Brewers Association.

In 2022, the brewery's Mexican-style lager, El Capitan, received a gold medal for lager and a bronze for "Best in Show" at the Arizona Craft Beer Awards, an event hosted by the Arizona Craft Brewers Guild.

Following the closing ...More info on site

Brewery news USA, NJ: Lunacy Brewing Company to permanently close on September 16
Lunacy Brewing Company plans to permanently close, the business announced Monday, September 4. Sept. 16 will mark the brewery's final day, the Patch reported.

In 2015, Lunacy Brewing Co. opened in Magnolia, before relocating several years later to 1500 Kings Hwy., Haddon Heights. The business intended to expand production in the Haddon Heights facility but ran into several "hiccups" preventing it from doing so.

Those obstacles — along with the pandemic, brewery restrictions and other unspecified issues — contributed to Lunacy's decision to close, the company said Tuesday.

"It wasn't an easy decision, but we feel it’s the best for us," Lunacy Brewing Co. said on Facebook.

Lunacy Brewing Co.'s last day will feature a celebration with live music.

New Jersey's brewery industry grew quickly over the past decade but faced new obstacles when the state imposed new restrictions that went into effect in July 2022. The controversial regulations — imposed by the New Jersey Division of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC) — put significant restrictions on the number of events a brewery can host, along with other restrictions.

The ABC contended that limited-brewery licenses carry different privileges than those of bars or alcohol-serving restaurants that often carry a higher price tag. Earlier this year, Gov. Phil ...More info on site

Brewery news Ukraine: Carlsberg Ukraine reports UAH57 mln damage from Russian occupation
Carlsberg Ukraine's losses from the loss and damage to retail equipment and kegs used by distributors in the occupied territories and territories where active hostilities took place, from the beginning of a full-scale invasion to April 2023, amounted to UAH 57 million (including VAT), the Ukrainian Journal reported on August 29.

According to the report of the company's management in the disclosure system of the National Securities and Stock Market Commission for the first quarter of this year, Carlsberg Ukraine does not exclude that the level of damage from the loss of fixed assets may be larger, because in a number of territories, access to inventory remains limited.
