2. Industry news
Vena, St. Petersburg based breweries asserted that from April 2002 it will be able to produce 20 mln litres of beer per month. This volume represents the double of its present production capacity, which is of 10 mln litres.

Hansa Borg Bryggerier,the second largest brewery in Norway, will be bought for EUR 60.9 mln by the Scandinavian group established by Danish Bryggerigruppen, Swedish Spendrup and Norwegian Borg Bryggerier Holding AS.

Sun Interbrew,operating on the Russian and Ukrainian beer markets and holding there important market shares, released at its tour, the results for 2001 year.

Duvel Moortgat a brewery from Belgium, declared its results for 2001. According to its statement, the Belgian brewer managed to increase its sales by 6% (+ EUR 9,9 mln) in 2001, the company’s turnover achieving the value of EUR 51.6 mln. Carlsberg breweries will be the official sponsor of the European Championship 2004 hold in Portugal. The relevant contract was signed by Nils S. Andersen, the CEO of Carlsberg and Lennart Johansson ,the President of UEFA, on March 22,2002.
