USA, NV: Parlay 6 Brewing Company buys majority stake in Lead Dog Brewing Company
|
Parlay 6 Brewing Company has acquired a majority stake in Lead Dog Brewing Company, an award-winning Reno brewery known for fan-favorite beers and a community-driven taproom experience. The deal establishes a long-term partnership centered on collaboration, consistency and shared growth within the northern Nevada craft beer community, the Nevada Business Magazine reported on February 6.
With the transaction complete, Parlay 6 will manage the day-to-day operations of Lead Dog Brewing Company, while the original Lead Dog ownership team retains equity and remains actively involved in the brand’s long-term vision and direction.
As part of the alignment, Lead Dog beers will be produced alongside Parlay 6 brands at the Battle Born production facility, supporting efficient production while maintaining the quality and character each brand is known for.
Both breweries emphasized that taproom identities and guest experiences will remain unchanged. Each location will continue to reflect its established culture, community connection and atmosphere. Guests can expect to see Lead Dog, Parlay 6 and Battle Born beers available across both taprooms, with opportunities for collaboration while preserving what makes each brand distinct.
In distribution, Parlay 6 and Lead Dog will be represented together, strengthening their collective presence throughout Nevada while maintaining separate brand identities in the marketplace.

USA: Heineken unveils two new fruit-forward flavors under its Heineken 0.0 label
|
Beer giant Heineken is doubling down on the fast-growing non-alcoholic market, unveiling two new fruit-forward flavors under its Heineken 0.0 label as the company seeks to capture consumers who want the taste of beer without the alcohol, Cleveland.com reported on February 5.
The company said it is introducing Cold Pressed Lime and Nectarine Juniper, marking its first move into flavored, alcohol-free beers. Both drinks are brewed twice to remove alcohol and then blended with the same base recipe used in Heineken 0.0.
According to Heineken, the launch comes as more Americans moderate their alcohol intake. Company research cited by Heineken found 81% of U.S. consumers say they now choose non-alcoholic options in social situations.

USA, NY: Bronx Brewery to close South Bronx location on February 8
|
The South Bronx location of the Bronx Brewery will close after Sunday, Feb. 8, the Bronx Times reported on February 5.
The company has not yet announced the closure, but it was confirmed by three staff members, two of whom said they found out just days in advance. Staff also said the Hudson Yards location will remain open and that the Bronx Brewery brand itself will continue.
Bronx Brewery’s general manager and owner of Captain Lawrence did not respond to request for comment in time for publication.
The brewery, located at 856 East 136th Street in the Port Morris neighborhood, has faced challenges in recent years. In October 2024, it merged with Westchester-based Captain Lawrence Brewing Company and ceased beer production in the South Bronx, marking a major shift for the company.
A number of factors influenced the decision, including increased costs of supplies, production and labor, the lack of foot traffic in the mostly-industrial neighborhood, and a nationwide downward trend in beer consumption, according to the owners of Bronx Brewery and Captain Lawrence at the time.
But following the merger, the South Bronx tap room remained open and regularly hosted events large and small in the backyard and on the revamped

USA, FL: Mathews Brewing Co. to officially close on March 13
|
One of Lake Worth Beach's most beloved watering holes, Mathews Brewing Co. will officially close on Friday, March 13, the Palm Beach Post reported on February 5.
Owner and founder Dave Mathews said in an Instagram post that "It’s bittersweet news, but it’s true I am closing down the brewery and relocating back to my hometown of Tampa to be closer to my family. Believe it or not, I turned 62 last year and I have been working like a dog since I was 15. It’s been a lot of fun, but it’s time for me to pivot once again."
The brewery opened in 2017 and is located at 130 S. H St. in the city's Artisanal Industrial District. Just a short walk from downtown and described on their website as a "playground for beer lovers," the brewery has become synonymous with delicious, award-winning craft beers, live music and a fun, party-like atmosphere both inside the air conditioned taproom and at their massive, tiki hut-covered beer garden.
Mathews Brewing Co. features live music most nights and over the years has had regular food trucks on site. They've also held plenty of seasonal events, like the annual Luau Party and Brewapalooza.
In late 2023 they

Brazil: Heineken halts production at Ponta Grossa brewery as highway accident causes lysoguma leak in local river
|
Heineken has halted production at its Ponta Grossa plant in Paraná state after an accident on the BR-376 highway resulted in a lysoguma leak, raising concerns about the Tibagi River, the main source of water used by the operation, Click Petroleo e Gas reported.
The shutdown was announced on February 5, 2026, while technicians assess whether there has been a significant environmental impact.
The case exposes a sensitive point for the industry: When industrial water depends on a strategic river, any suspicion of contamination becomes an operational, reputational, and economic risk. Beyond monitoring the Tibagi River, reports, emergency protocols, and pressure for transparency come into play, because the regional supply chain feels the effects even before a resumption date is set.
The event began with a collision between two semi-trucks on BR-376, at km 509, on February 3, 2026.
The incident resulted in a spill of lysoguma, described as a vegetable oil derivative that can be classified as hazardous waste when improperly disposed of, requiring containment and monitoring; one of the drivers suffered a broken leg and received medical attention.
Heineken has stated that the suspension is preventative and that it will only resume operations after validation of environmental technical reports by the Water and
