Czech Union of Small Independent Breweries some time ago made a complaint against two important Czech breweries Plzensky Prazdroj and Radegast that these would have signed exclusive contracts with local restaurants . Following this petition, now, Anti-Monopoly Office (UOHS ) has announced its preliminary verdict, according to which the brewers Plzensky Prazdroj and Radegast are officially found guilty of having infringed the Czech Anti-Monopoly Law.

Uncier , the leader of the Portuguese beer market , has recently announced its determination to relaunch Clok brand , which was for the first time introduced in the Portuguese beer market in 1975. In the first year Unicer intends to sell about 10 million litters of this beer brand .

From the 1st of the June 2002 , Sleeman Breweries Ltd the third-largest Canadian brewer will not have the entitlement to distribute sell and market Beck's products in Canada . This is the effect of a recent transaction concluded between Sleeman and Oland Specialty Beer Company by which Sleeeman consents to sell to Oland its rights on Beck's products . The financial terms of this sale have not been disclosed to the public .

The Russian State Duma has adopted, in first reading , important amendments to the law of advertising that will considerably influence henceforth the content of beer commercials in Russia.

Asahi, the leading brewery from Japan announced this Monday at a press conference that it intends to buy two liquor companies from Asahi Kasei Corporation . Carlsberg brewery from Denmark has declared that it revised and innovated its accounting policies in compliance with the new accounting rules adopted by the Danish Parliament last summer. These new policies will be applied from the first quarter of 2002. Carlsberg has also acknowledged that its net profit for 2001 was reevaluated in accordance with the new rules and its value.......
