Heineken intends to adopt another,improved strategy for getting the leading position on the Chinese beer market, as the present strategy which was mainly based on the promotion of premium Heineken brand did not bring the expected results. For redressing this situation and for being able to be the first in China, Heineken plans to buy local beer brands .
Warsteiner Brauerei Haus Cramer, the first brewery from Germany, has increased its beer prices on the 1st of April and it already feels the effect of this augmentation. The beer sales have begun to fall and this happens after an important growth of beer sales registered by Warsteiner in the first quarter of this year.
This Saturday at a press conference in Dortmund, the brewer which holds a sure share of 7% in the German beer market, has expressed its point of view on this situation. According to Warsteiner this drop is a temporary effect of the price increase and this will be, according to its own estimations, followed, by a rise in sales of 1%. Furthermore besides this anticipated growth, Warsteiner also expects an increase of EUR 15 mln in its turnover as a result of this price rise.

Femsa , the largest Mexican brewery has announced that it will make public
its financial results for the first quarter of 2002 on the 25 th of April
2002 at 12:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
The conference will be webcast by CCBN and could be accessed at the brewer
official website by all those interested.
Femsa is the first brewery in Mexico and one of the largest in Latin

Denmark's Central Customs and Tax Administration released a report which
has shown that for the month of January 2002, Danish beer sales rose by
