Brewery news

Alexander Keith's officially introduced Alexander Keith's Red Amber Ale into Ontario, according to Labatt’s news room, March 30. To mark the occasion, an Alexander Keith's Red Amber Ale Tall Ship carrying ceremonial kegs sailed into Toronto Harbour accompanied by Highlanders from the Halifax Citadel, wenches, privateers and other special Haligonian ambassadors.

"We are thrilled to welcome the arrival of Alexander Keith's Red Amber Ale into Ontario. It is exciting that beer drinkers here will get to enjoy the rich and hospitable taste of this Keith's fine ale that pays tribute to our rich heritage," said Andrew Sneyd, Alexander Keith's Marketing Director.

Backed by nearly 200 years of brewing tradition, Alexander Keith's Red Amber Ale is crafted using the finest quality ingredients to deliver its soft amber hues, moderate body and crisp, clean finish. Like all Alexander Keith's beers, Red Amber Ale is brewed exclusively in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

"Alexander Keith's Red Amber Ale is a great new beer that offers a true premium experience with great flavour. We know that beer lovers care about taste and we're excited to be able to provide a new choice to Ontarians," said John Campbell, Regional Director of Sales, Ontario.

Building on its success in the Atlantic and Quebec, launching Alexander Keith's Red Amber Ale into Ontario was a natural next step and it promises to delight discerning beer drinkers in this province as well.

Following the welcoming ceremony, a Nova Scotia themed caravan then traveled to the Alexander Keith's Red Amber Ale First Sociable at Fionn MacCools on the Esplanade in Toronto's downtown to tap the first keg. Torontonians were invited to be among the first to sample the new beer and to pledge to honour the tradition of Alexander Keith's fine family of beers.

Alexander Keith's Red Amber Ale draught will be available at bars and restaurants across Ontario.
