E-Malt.com News article: Canada: Barley supply is expected to increase only slightly due to significantly lower carry-in stocks
Barley news

Barley production is forecast by Agriculture and Agri-Food Canada (AAFC) to increase by 20%, due to higher area and yields, but supply is expected to increase only slightly due to significantly lower carry-in stocks, AAFC published on May 29. Slightly higher exports are forecast to be more-than offset by lower domestic use so that carry-out stocks increase by 6%.

The average off-Board feed barley price (No. 1 CW I/S Lethbridge) is forecast to decrease to CA$160/t from CA$165/t expected for 2006- 07.
