Barley news

ABB Grain has reviewed its 2007/2008 harvest barley pools and left them unchanged with gross estimates for malting 1 at $385-$395/tonne and feed 1 at $318-$328/tonne for Victoria and NSW, and malting 1 at $375-$385/tonne and feed 1 at $308-$318/tonne for South Australia, according to ABBs’ press release, February 14.

ABB’s pools manager, Jonathan Wilson, said the markets continued to move in both directions with foreign exchange close to 90c against the greenback, ocean freights again moving higher and considerable movement in grain prices globally.

“In this environment, we are pleased to continue to hold the pool steady within the current range,” Mr Wilson said.
