E-Malt.com News article: Czech Republic & Kyrgyzstan: Budweiser Budvar beer now shipped to Kyrgyz consumers
Brewery news

Budweiser Budvar Brewery dispatched the first consignment of its beer to Kyrgyzstan on December, 10, the Czech brewer reported on its website.

The consignment comprised 180 hl of bottled pale lager. The brewer said the beer was available for the Kyrgyz customers just before the New Year’s Eve.

Czech products, beer in particular, have a good reputation in all former USSR countries.

“Despite the Kyrgyz market being small, it has been dynamically growing during the last years. The beer consumption should triple there by 2013. Furthermore, approximately 70% of the consumption goes to imported beer,” says Budweiser Budvar’s export manager for Asia, Tomáš Bártů.

Budweiser Budvar Premium Lager will retail at KGS 70 - 90 (about CZK 35 - 45). "The price is approximately double what regular beers on the local market are sold for,” adds Bártů.

Budweiser Budvar, N.C. brewery has long been one of the most successful Czech beer producers. Budweiser Budvar’s sales increased by 9% in 2007, having reached the volume of 1,253,000 hectolitres of beer. The brewery’s 2007 gross profit annually grew by 13% onto the total of CZK 302 million. Since 1991, about CZK 3,500 million has been invested into the modernization and development of the brewery.
