Brewery news

Guinness Nigeria Plc, one of the nation’s largest brewers, has opened a search for investors to buy its choice site in Ikeja that for close to 35 years was home to its flagship brands, The Guardian communicated on January, 19.

The plant, built in 1962, was the first brewery to be built by the company in Nigeria and acts as its logistic centre. All its production activities in Lagos, however, now are carried out at its Ogba factory, which is adjudged to be one of the most modern such facilities in Africa.

The investors are being invited to bid for the premises, said to be worth N6 billion, in a bidding exercise launched last week, which is to be concluded by the end of February this year. The bid winner is expected to be named in March.
