Ukraine’s beer market dropped by 18.3% in the litre equivalent in February – June this year as compared to the same period in 2008, Ukrainske Radio cited on August, 27 data from a monitoring of retail trade in the period.

At the same time, the beer market fell by 32.6% in June 2009 compared to June 2008, according to the results of a survey carried out by MEMRB-IRI.

The monitoring embraces all of the urban population in Ukraine and was conducted at points of sale. According to the study, the average price of 0.5 liter of beer grew by 18% in June 2009 compared to June 2008.
