Brewery news

Russia’s biggest beer maker Baltika Breweries announced on January, 11 that it has licensed the right to use its trademarks Baltika and Nevskoe to Derbes, a Kazakh subsidiary of Carlsberg Group.

The license was granted until 2029 for a fixed fee of €90 million.

Furthermore, Derbes must make quarterly royalty payments of 4.5% of their net profits from any production and sales of beer under the above trademarks.

Carlsberg, the owning company of Baltika and Derbes, is considering a reorganisation in order to unite Derbes Brewery and Baltika’s Kazakh division Baltika-Almaty.
