Brewery news

As a part of a historic revitalization project in city’s downtown core, the Anaheim Brewery opened on 1st of July, The Orange County Register reports.

The brewery, along South Anaheim Boulevard, is taking over the restored Packard dealership building.

Barbara and Greg Gerovac are the operators of the craft brew tasting room, built in honour of the old Anaheim Brewery. The brewery's taps went dry during the Prohibition era. The Gerovacs are reviving the brand, and plan to serve four types of beers – Anaheim 1888, Anaheim Gold, Anaheim Red and Anaheim Hefeweizen.

The couple, who have 15 years of brewing experience, started making their first batch of beers over the Memorial Day weekend. The tasting room will offer beer for $5 a glass or $8 for a flight. For craft brew fans who like to drink at home, Anaheim Brewery will sell growlers. The cost will be $20 for the first bottle and $15 for refills.

They bought the rights to the old Anaheim Brewery name and partnered with the city to restore the old Packard Building to its former glory.

"We are bringing the brand back to life," Barbara Gerovac said.

A grand-opening party is slated for July 16.
