Brewery news

A brewery with one location in north-eastern Iowa has announced plans to open the state's largest brewing operation in Coralville next year, Chicago Tribune reported on June, 30.

Backpocket Brewing announced on June 29th it will open a 25,000 barrel-per-year operation just off of Interstate 80 in Coralville's Iowa River Landing district. Backpocket's operation is currently based at Old Man River Restaurant & Brewery in McGregor.

The source reported the $5.3 million brewery is expected to open next summer. It will feature a large tap room and beer garden for the public.

Simmons says the proximity to major highways and the area's demographics made the site a good fit.
