Mozambique’s only beer maker Cervejas de Moçambique (CDM) reported on August, 4 a revenue of 6.7 billion meticals in the quarter ending 31 March, which represented growth of 26.6 percent against the same period of 2010.

According to the annual report and accounts presented and approved during the last General Meeting the company posted operating profit of 1.6 billion meticals, which was a rise of 23.4 percent.

The Chair of the Board of Directors of CDM, Isidora Faztudo said that there were good prospects for the start of beer production using cassava, legislation for which is expected to be approved by Mozambique’s parliament this year.
