UK: Budweiser has agreed an exclusive sponsorship deal with the London-based personal chauffeur service, scooterMAN.

Budweiser's sponsorship of scooterMAN will coincide with the personal chauffeur company's expansion into further regions in 2003. By early 2004, the Budweiser sponsored scooterMAN service will be available in most home counties.

Customers booking the scooterMAN service are met by a chauffeur on a folding scooter, which is then sealed in bags and placed in the customer's boot. The scooterMAN chauffeur is comprehensively insured to drive the customer home in his/her car, then returns on the folding scooter.

Randall Blackford, Budweiser's UK marketing director said: "As a company that promotes responsible drinking, Budweiser is proud to sponsor such an innovative and creative driving service to help individuals get home safely.

"Budweiser is already involved in promoting responsible drinking in the UK. We help train bar staff to serve responsibly and we promote responsible drinking through appropriate signage at Budweiser-sponsored events. And working with the police, the Best Bar None Award seeks to establish a standard of excellence amongst bars in Manchester with the ultimate aim of creating a safer city centre. The scooterMAN sponsorship deal takes this commitment to promoting responsible drinking to a new level."
