The Czech Republic: Radegast launches Radegast Original in new 1.5-litre plastic bottle

Czech brewery Radegast, a part of the Plzenský Prazdroj brewing group owned by SABMiller, has launched its Moravian light draft beer Radegast Original in new 1.5-litre plastic bottle on 30 August, Drinks Business Review reports.

Radegast believes that this packaging will better preserve the beer temperature and resist against breaking. The bottle can be tightly closed after each sip.

Radegast brewery manager Ivo Kanák said the consumers will appreciate the new 1.5-liter packaging especially outdoors as it has a resilient design and can easily withstand the impact of a stone, or falling from a backpack to the ground.

The Czech brewer noted that this bottle was specifically designed for its beer, focusing more on practical design aspects such as its ergonomic shape supporting easy manipulation, and its height and width designed for optimal storage capability.

Radegast beer will be distributed in plastic bottles as from 30 August, with plans to roll out into most of the stores in a few days, the company said.

Radegast produces more than 2 millions of hectolitres of beer a year, and employs about 250 employees.
