E-Malt.com News article: USA, NE: Thunderhead Brewing Company expands its brewing capacity
Brewery news

Thunderhead Brewing Company, a Nebraska-based brewer, has moved its beer production from Kearney to Axtell, Drinks Business Review reported on November, 15.

The brewery produces 15 recipes of beer, with Goldenfraü and Cornstalker as its signature brews.

The new brewery in Axtell has both the old and new equipment that enable the company to cater to rising demand.

The company's co-owner and head brewmaster Trevor Schaben said the reason he moved production to the Axtell location three months ago is because the operation grew beyond the Kearney facility.

"We needed space and needed to expand the brewing capacity, the keg line and automate some of the keg filling process because it was taking too long," Schaben said.

Schaben said the brewery is now has the capability of producing 1,300 gallons per week. Thunderhead received a shipment of 160 new kegs which, once filled, are shipped to bars and restaurants that offer its beer on tap.

The company's beer lineup also includes Grail Ale Grand Crü, Ceremony IPA and MacTawisch Scottish Ale.

Thunderhead Brewery beer is now sold in more than 60 locations in Nebraska.
