Brewery news

New Belgium Brewing Co. is adding two new beers to its growing portfolio, Coloradoan.com reported on November, 29.

Bryan Simpson, media relations director at New Belgium, revealed the two new beers the brewery is working on for next year.

The first is a pale ale called Dig, which will replace their former spring seasonal Mighty Arrow.

Simpson said the beer, with a label featuring a shovel, will come out in February.

The second beer is a pale lager called Shift, and is named after the brewery’s free beer after each shift policy for employees and the brewery's transitional period.

Shift will only be released in the brewery’s new 16-ounce cans that are come off the new canning line under construction. The Shift can logo has a silver bicycle chain and gears on it.

The beer is still in development and Simpson said the release date will hinge on when the canning line is completed.

The new canning line will have the ability to fill 12-ounce and 16-ounce cans. The former canning line could only fill 12-ounce cans. To start, New Belgium will offer Fat Tire and its Ranger IPA in 16-ounce cans along with Shift.
