Brewery news

Fort Collins Brewery started the year adding new tanks and it appears it may end the year adding new fermentation tanks, as the brewing industry continues to expand in Fort Collins, The Coloradoan reported on December, 2.

In January, the brewery added four 100-barrel fermentation tanks. FCB announced it was expecting an additional two 150-barrel fermentation vessels on December, 2.

Jan Peters, FCB vice president of operations, in an email declined to comment on the new tanks. As of December, 2 around 11 a.m. there was no sign of new tanks going into the brewery.

If the brewery were to add the two 150-barrel tanks, it would add to brewery’s capacity, which sits at around 60,000 barrels per year.

With the January expansion, FCB quadrupled its production size with the addition of the four tanks to accommodate the brewery's growth.

The brewery added the four 100-barrel fermentation tanks, bringing the brewery's production from about 10,000 barrels per year to 60,000 barrels per year. FCB went from 12 fermentation tanks to 16 tanks. With this possible addition it would have 18 fermentation tanks.

While the brewery has the ability to brew beer nearly around the clock, it was projected to brew around 14,000 barrels this year.
