Brewery news

While they missed their first planned launch date of last fall, the father and son team of Jim and Sid Ruhland hit their second target, and have officially opened Firehall Brewery in the basement of the Old Firehall building in Oliver, BC, Canadian Beer News reported on April, 2.

The first 1000 litre batch of the brewery’s flagship beer, Stoked Ember Ale, was brewed on February 25th.

In addition to takeaway sales of 50 litre kegs and 1.89 refillable growler jugs at the brewery’s tasting room – dubbed the “Hydration Station” – Stoked Ember Ale is also available on tap at the Firehall Bistro, the restaurant and bar located in the main level of the Old Firehall building. Other local bars set to feature the beer include Murphy’s Irish Sports Bar & Grill, Ye Olde Welcome Inn, and the Baldy Bar in the Mt. Baldy Ski Area.
