Brewery news

Black Creek Historic Brewery, the small mid-19th century style brewery on site at Black Creek Pioneer Village, has announced plans for a series of historic ales to be available at various times throughout the remainder of 2012, Canadian Beer News reported on June, 15.

According to brewmaster Ed Koren, the beers have been “developed based on ingredients that would have been available or grown locally in the 1860s, such as maple syrup or lemon balm. We also tried to match the specialty brews with special events taking place at Black Creek Pioneer Village, such as brewing the pumpkin beer during Halloween Hootenanny.”

All beers in the series will be available exclusively at the Black Creek Historic Brewery, where they can be sampled during tours, or purchased in growlers for C$16 (including tax and C$4 deposit). Details about each beer will be posted on the Black Creek Growler blog as they are released.
