Chicagoans may not be able to enter the new Lakeview pub and brewery, DryHop, until March, but the ambitious brewers behind it aren't letting that stop them from introducing their beer to the city, dnainfo.com reported on December, 9.

DryHop, which was supposed to open this fall, has been making up for long city permit wait times by collaborating with other local breweries to introduce new recipes. On December, 10, owner Greg Shuff and head brewer Brant Dubovick debuted "Johnny Quest Thinks We're Sellouts," a collaboration with Ravenswood brewery Begyle Brewing Co. at three different bars, with a fourth bar hosting it the week after.

The black IPA is the fifth beer collaboration DryHop has released but the first one to be released in kegs to bars. Previously, DryHop created beers with places like Hamburger Mary's in Andersonville and Haymarket Pub & Brewery in the West Loop that were sold only in those breweries for a few weeks.

"These are the sort of things you can expect us to be doing," Shuff said.

Lakeview residents hoping to get a sneak peek of Johnny Quest have to move fast. The beer will only be available for about a week since each bar will only stock one keg of it, Shuff said.
