Brewery news

Nearly two years after offering preview samples at the 2011 PEI Beer Festival, Barnone Brewing has finally officially opened, Canadian Beer News reported on July, 18.

Founded by father and son team Hugh and Don Campbell, Barnone is starting with two flagship beers: Summer Sessions and a moderately hopped Pale Ale.

Barnone’s 5 hectolitre brewing system is located on the family farm, where many ingredients for the beers are grown.

Barnone beers are currently available only on draught, with The Landing Oyster House & Pub in Tyne Valley, PE being the first establishment to put them on tap. Distribution to other bars and restaurants in Prince Edward Island is expected to follow soon, and a brewery retail store will be opening soon to offer growler sales.
