E-Malt.com News article: Spain: Barley production estimated lower at 6.9 mln tonnes this year

Spain’s agriculture ministry still estimates Spain’s 2014 wheat production (excl. durum) at 5.7 mln tonnes which is down from the 6.7 mln tonnes produced in 2013.

Durum output is now seen slightly higher at 789,000 (previous forecast 769,000; previous year 906,000) tonnes, while barley production is estimated lower at 6.9 (7.1; 10.1) mln tonnes.

The estimate for oats now stands at 671,000 (674,000; 965,000) tonnes, for rye at 229,000 (226,000; 383,000) tonnes and for triticale at 450,000 (423,000; 394,000) tonnes. Corn output is still expected at 4.6 (4.6; 4.9) mln tonnes.
