Birmingham, Alabama-based Cahaba Brewing Co. continues to grow in popularity and on February 18 announced it would move its production facility and tasting room to a new location.

The brewery plans to move its new facility to 4500 Fifth Avenue S. later this year, according to a release from Cahaba Brewing Co. The brewery will relocate to the 51,000-square-foot Building C in the Continental Gin Industrial Park.

The release said 21,000 square feet will be dedicated to brewery space, featuring all new equipment aimed at increasing capacity.

The move comes on the heels of the brewery releasing its first canned beer last month and the hope is the new facility will help promote continued expansion.

"The move to Continental Gin is a no brainier for Cahaba," said Andrew Pharo, co-owner of the brewery in a written statement. "It meets every requirement we've been looking for: it's about 2 miles from our current location, has ample space for expansion, a secure campus for our tasting room guests, parking, outdoor seating, a historic building with character, and it allows us to stay a part of the social fabric of Birmingham. We couldn't be happier with our new location."

The firm has been looking for a new location for over a year, and now plans to help rejuvenate its future neighborhood between Crestline and Avondale.

"We're not only looking forward to moving to Continental Gin to increase our production capacity, but to help revitalize the neighborhood and turn it into a creative center for Birmingham," said Co-Owner and Head Brewer Eric Meyer.
