Brewery news

Cheyenne Brewing Company is gearing up to start business at the Depot Plaza in Cheyenne with a bang. But structural damage has caused some delays in a soft opening. "It just seems you run into something else, so one step forward two steps back," owner Robert Fertig was quoted as saying by CBS News Channel on April 26.

Initially, the opening was supposed to take place Sunday April 26, but dealing with an old historic building comes with extra maintenance. "So there's always going to be a few issues here and there, especially mechanical."

But structure issues aside, the historic atmosphere makes for a great representation of Cheyenne's past. "Everything is original - from the wood to the clock tower to looking out the window and seeing the trains going by. It's awesome," says co-owner, Adam Filas.

This brewery is going to give an edge to Cheyenne's bar culture everyone can enjoy. "We just want to make sure we do it right the first time and make it a great experience for everyone when they come in," says Fertig.

Brewery owners hope to host a soft opening sometime this week and hope to have a grand opening in June.
